Medical Director, Electrophysiology

Dr. Utkarsh Kohli is pediatric cardiologist and electrophysiologist and serves as medical director of electrophysiology for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Heart Institute. He earned his medical degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Dr. Kohli completed a residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. He then pursued a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in pediatric cardiac electrophysiology at the same institution. Dr. Kohli also completed a fellowship in clinical pharmacology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Kohli’s clinical interests include congenital and acquired heart disease in children, arrhythmias and syncope (fainting). His procedural expertise includes implantation of pacemakers, subcutaneous and transvenous defibrillators, subcutaneous loop recorders, electrophysiology studies and catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias.

In his role as medical director, Dr. Kohli oversees clinical, operational and quality activities for the electrophysiology subspecialty, including teaching, research and fiscal planning for the Heart Institute’s electrophysiology services.

Dr. Kohli is board certified in general pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease. In addition, he is certified by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners as an electrophysiology specialist. Dr. Kohli is actively engaged in clinical research. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at numerous medical conferences. Dr. Kohli has also contributed chapters to medical textbooks and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for dozens of medical journals.

Dr. Kohli is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He speaks English and Hindi.
